Nothing matters but the weekend, from a Tuesday point of view
Okay, so it's been a month, but a busy one, so I'm not even going to apologize. So there!
The countdown is rapidly ticking down to the farm move-date. The movers appear on May 20th, and we've only a fraction of anything packed, so the next 10 days or so are going to be nuts. Then begins the house-hunting, which is sure to be painful, as the housing market is insane around here: everything is going for well over its asking price, no matter how inflated that price is. Sigh. It stands to reason that the minute I decide to enter the market, the market starts moving at the speed of a hummingbird on crack.
Old friends continue to reappear. Last weekish, I was sitting in a small restaurant, waiting for Basia to arrive, only to come face-to-face with the Gavster. Hadn't seen him in far too long. Turns out, we share a mutual employer, but he'd not whispered a word of it (bastard!). He didn't have any pics of new daughter, but I hope we'll be able to connect one of these days and get caught up on all the news.
Then, this week, I heard from Pearl, who was writing with news of parties and book launches -- a few of my favourite things. Haven't seen her since Robert's last launch, which was ... a long time ago, now that I think of it. I can't wait to read her new book and catch up on her life.
